The Art and Science of
Coaching Weightlifting

For coaches only, this three-part course combines the best available science with coaching methods we've tested and refined through decades of experience. Upon completion of the course, you will understand how to better coach the Olympic lifts with athletes of all experience levels.

The course will be conducted in three parts, each part offered separately (see "Schedule/Pricing/Registration" below):
  • Part I: Biomechanics of the Lifts
Learn the science of efficient technique in the snatch, clean, and jerk. Gain a detailed understanding of the forces that affect the body and the bar at each phase of each lift. Better understand common errors and why they occur.

  • Part II: Coaching Methodology
Learn a proven method for coaching the snatch, clean, and jerk, including our most effective drills, progressions and cues. Our method will give you a strategy for teaching technique to beginners and improving technique of developing lifters.

  • Part III: Coaching Lab
