Why You Need To Train With An Expert


An expert is a person with extensive knowledge and ability based on research and experience

in a particular area of study. This exemplifies who and what Sean Waxman is. And that’s whom

you get when you come to Waxman’s Gym. Not some right out of college coach or some part time

personal trainer!

As with any profession, there is a learning curve. Coaching is no different. If you needed

your knee operated on, do you
ask for the doctor straight out of medical school or the doctor who

has done that particular procedure hundreds of times?
The benefit of using an expert is that you

don’t waste time guessing what will work. Experts KNOW what works
because they have done

it hundreds of times!

I have been a professional Coach for over18 years as well as a World Class Olympic

Weightlifter. There is NOBODY in Southern California with the combination of formal education,

Strength Coaching experience, Strength Coaching success, Olympic Weightlifting, and other

athletic achievements. That’s what makes me an expert. Don’t take my word for it, find out for

I expect a lot from the members. Much more than others will. That is why I get the results I do.

Since the training is challenging, there will be times when you will have to look to the person next

to you for strength. This requires that everybody who trains together has a single focus. This is why

I can only accept people who are extremely motivated, respectful of others, and disciplined. This

creates a positive and supportive environment in which success is cultivated and where people

thrive.

To ensure everyone receives the best possible coaching, we train in small groups or

one-on-one. I limit membership to 50 clients. If the membership is filled when you apply, you will

have the option of being placed on the waiting list.

It’s a given, your competition is training, perhaps in the same place and/or the same way as you.

The fact is, everybody is looking for an edge. But, if you are training in the same way as your

competition, how do you expect to beat them? If you want to excel and pass over your competition

then you MUST train smarter and harder. You must be willing to do what they won’t.

Failure or success in competition will often come down to one variable; your ability to produce

force, against the ground, quickly enough, in order to get to the point of attack before your

opponent. Or simply stated, you need to be more powerful than your opponents in order to

beat them
. There are no other exercises that will improve this ability better than the Olympic

Lifts…and there are no exercises that even come close!
The ability to produce power is a skill

that can be improved just like running, tackling, or throwing. If you learn and practice how to run

correctly, you will blow by your opposition. If you learn
and practice how to be more powerful,

you will get to the point of attack first.

You will lift heavy things all the time, the correct way, in the correct sequence and then you repeat

until the day you get the results you want. However, that day never comes because athletes at

Waxman’ s Gym are never satisfied with what they did yesterday. They are always striving to be
